hay naku, kay tagal kong nawala. busy na kasi ako sa school kaya hindi na ako masyadong nakakapag update. tsaka, inaamin ko naman -- tinatamad na akong mag post sa blog (hehehe). sa totoo nga, it took about more than 5 minutes bago ma figure out kung anong email ad ang ginamit ko sa blog na to, tsaka kung ano yung password. hay naku! nagiging makakalimutin na talaga ako, but nga hindi ko pa nakakalimutan sarili kong pangalan. anyways, ngayon gagawin ko nang habit na mag update ng blog once a week, and that would be saturday (time management mehn!)

After a long, long time... Here I am -- yet again!
I've been quite busy lately adjusting to a whole new kind of environment, and a very unusual schedule. I'm not used to having a schedule that has very long breaks in between, unlike highschool. I do have long breaks but they're all spent on asking for assignments and review. When you're in college, you really have to have time management, if you dont want to end heavily burdened with things by the end of the term.
Not only that, you also have to deal with teachers which are not of your liking and preference and people who tend to pull you down. Its hard dealing with people of different walks of life, and people who are, literally, totally different from you.
Anyway, I'm back to karate practice now (T-F-S schedule) because there is an upcoming event this August, and hopefully this September too. I'm actually looking forward to the CESAFI annual meet. I'm not quite sure if the karate event would push through, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. After T-Th classes, I usually go to Bernard's soccer practice. Its fun looking at them play ball. Mind you, soccer is actually one of my favorite sports since I was a child, but never really got to play the game. I'm actually planning on trying it out next year.
So much for all the blabbering. I gotta go, still got a class to catch up. Ciao.

My Dad and his Photography Skills

My dad started his photography hobby when he bought a Nikon D70 during his vacation in Hong Kong last April. I was actually the first one who got the idea of buying a photographer's camera for my hobby. Instead of buying me one, he bought 6.0mp Olympus FE-15, since I'm too clumsy to take care of valuable things. I honestly felt jealous when he showed me the camera he bought because that was the same camera I told him that I wanted for my graduation.
This is how the Nikon D70 looks like.
My dad also started posting his shots in a website called PhotoAnswers. The website brings you great digital camera advice with an informative blend of video tutorials, photo galleries, digital camera reviews, and forums. It's the perfect place for photographers to learn new digital photography techniques and share knowledge and photos. Here's a sample of one of my dad's best shots.

Stories from Monday
I have quite a few stories from Monday, July 7, which I would really like to share with you. I'll be writing it down in Tagalog so it wouldnt change too much of the idea because we do conversations in Bisaya. So here goes my first Tagalog post.Ang Klase sa Edukasyong Pampisikal
Rochel: #27 complete
Mdm. Coscos: Solideo? Complete? That's not the prescribed PE Tshirt.
Rochel: Ay, pasensya na po madam, hindi pa kasi ako nakapagbili nung bagong shirt.
Mdm. Coscos: And wrong jogging pants.
Rochel: Ha? Di ko kasi alam ngayon kami dapat magsuot nung prescribed PE uniform.
Mdm. Coscos: Speak in English.
Rochel: (kunot-noo) I didnt know that we are supposed to wear the prescribed PE uniform today, Madam.
Mdm. Coscos: And you still make excuses, Ms. Solideo?
Rochel: (kunot-noo at kinamot ang ulo)
...a couple minutes later
Mdm. Coscos: #27, when you do a sit-up, your head should touch the floor.
Rochel: (patuloy na nag sit-up) Umabot naman ah.
Mdm. Coscos: Solideo, bibig mo!
Rochel: Pero madam!

Karl: Nelson, pa kopya naman ng assignment sa Trigonometry.
Nelson: Hindi ako magpapakopya noh, ang hirap kayang e-solve nito.
Karl: Eh binigay ko naman yung answers ng kaibigan ko ah.
Nelson: Mali yun! (Tweettie: Aba, bakit. Ikaw lang ba ang marunong?)
Rochel: Ang hirap nga. Pa kopya naman Tweettie.
Tweettie: Wala pa rin akong sagot eh. Sorry.
Nelson: Pareho lang naman tayong mga estudyante ah. E-solve nyo nga yan. Wag kayong humingi sa kin ng answers.
Rochel: Aba aba aba... Akala mo'y nanghihingi kami ng sagot sa yo?
Nelson: Nag aantay lang naman kayo na bigyan ah.
Rochel: Ah ganun!
Nelson: Yan na man lagi n'yong ginagawa ah.
Rochel: Kapal mo rin ano! Bakit, bright ka ba?
Nelson: Alam ko lang naman ang answer ah.
Rochel: Pero hindi namin kailangan tulong mo kahit bobo kami.
Nelson: Di ko sinabi yun.
Rochel: Di porket marunong ka, magaling ka. Pangit din naman ng ugali mo ah!
Uuwi nalang
Rochel: Tweettie, help me.
Tweettie: Bakit ba? Natatae ka ba?
Rochel: Di noh. Ang sakit ng tummy ko.
Tweettie: Susuka kang muli?
Rochel: Ayoko noh... Sayang naman ng lumpia tsaka pancit canton.
Tweettie: Uwi ka nalang.
Rochel: Wait.
Tweettie: Ano?
Rochel: Ah, sweet release.
Tweettie: Eew! Umutot ka?
Rochel: Ssshh...

Helpful Tips for Students on the road

As a student, it is my own duty and responsibility to keep myself safe. This is actually my own compilation of safety tips... Helpful tips on which I have found very useful over the years. Most of them are actually based on past experiences. It wont be necessary if you do have a car or your mom/dad/driver fetches you from school, but it would still be useful if you're usually on the road.
1. Look for safe and familiar routes to- and from- your school.
2. Do not bring large amounts of cash, if you dont really need to. I usually bring only what is needed, sometimes, I tag along with me my ATM card.
3. Avoid displaying your phone in public places (ex. jeepneys, sidewalks). This seems to bring unwanted presence of snatchers.
4. When riding a jeepney, use coins for your fare and make sure you put them in a separate coin purse. Aside from not giving the driver any hassle, this prevents you from taking out your wallet. Remember, snatchers could be found anywhere.
5. Do not wear expensive jewelry.
6. On rainy days, keep an umbrella in your bag so you wont get all soaked up.
7. Never talk to strangers, neither accept their invitations for a ride home, etc.
8. Use closed bags. This avoids incidents of pickpockets.
9. When riding a taxi cab, do not forget to note down the plate number. This makes your parents know you're on that cab and can immediately report if it ever happens that you dont get home on time. This also helps you contact the taxi cab driver if ever you left something on that cab.
10. Lastly, pray to your guardian angel for safety -- the most powerful safety tip.
